Fly into Clearwater for a Day

For a beach destination that’s not too far from Ridge Landing, look no further than Clearwater. Just 72 statute miles away from Ridge Landing Airpark, the Clearwater Airpark is one of the best you can fly into. In 2014, the Clearwater Airpark received the Florida General Aviation Airport of the Year award from the Florida Department of Transportation, an honor no doubt!

William Morris

Marine & Aviation Director for the City of Clearwater, William Morris, said, “To be selected as the top airport out of 111 general aviation airports in Florida is truly the culmination of creating an outstanding team…”

Clearwater Airpark has worked with neighbors as well as city departments to create the fantastic facility it is today. With neighbors’ consent, the airpark was able to top or remove trees. Other recent improvements include an automated weather observation station and a runway measuring 4,100 feet long, 75 feet wide, and a 30-foot-wide taxiway. It’s also worth mentioning Clearwater Airpark (KCLW) is open seven days a week, with a takeoff and landing window spanning from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
