The Albert Whitted Airport is beautifully located along the Port of Saint Petersburg, and was voted 2009’s Florida General Aviation Airport of the Year by Florida DOT (Depart of Transportation).
We discovered an article written in the Tampa Bay Times by their food critic, and he mentioned the exclusivity of the Hangar Lounge saying, “Why is the best airport food at an airport from which you can’t actually go anywhere? Unless that’s your plane parked down there.” – referring to the privately owned aircrafts.
So, if you’re up for a bit of flying and want some quality food, and entertainment, fly on over to the Hangar Restaurant and Flight Lounge. Keep in mind that the Albert Whitted Airport is located near an active military base (MacDill AFB), therefore pilots should familiarize themselves with the restricted airspace and military activity.
