Instructions for International Pilots Looking to Fly General Aviation Aircraft in the United States.

Before you can start your Florida aviation vacation, you will need to complete the following easy-to-use form!
To fly general aviation aircraft in the United States, a US Pilots License is required.
Step 1: Visit the Federal Aviation Administration website
Step 2: Complete the Verification of Authenticity of Foreign License, Rating, and Medical Certification Form. This form usually takes about 10 minutes to complete, and we request that you list “Tampa, Florida” as the location of your Flight Standards District Office (Form #11).
Step 3: PLEASE MAIL COMPLETED FORM TO: Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Airmen Certification Branch, AFS-760, PO Box 25082, Oklahoma City, OK 73125-0082.
Applications generally take 4-6 weeks to process, the FAA will contact you when it is complete. Your US Pilot’s License, and letter of authenticity, will be valid for 6 months and can be extended if necessary. Please make sure to notify the FAA if you plan to fly for more than 6 months.
Step 4: Make a reservation to stay in one of our airport homes , you have the choice to fly with a safety pilot or get a check ride and rent one of our general aviation aircraft.
