Kevin Kasley
Kevin Kasley has made his career out of being up close and personal with a variety of aircraft.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, Kasley went to high school in Sebring and holds certifications in Airframe & Powerpoint as well as Inspection of Airworthiness, qualifying him to perform annual inspections, perform major repairs and do alterations. He has also taken courses in welding, body repair and first response.
Kasley's experience includes:
- Don Haynes Aviation of Fort Lauderdale, where he worked in the component overhaul shop. He overhauled Beechcraft components, landing gear assemblies, wheels, brakes, janitrol heaters, flap actuators, and retract links from 1987 to 1989.
- At Don Haynes Aviation in Anderson, South Carolina, he performed progressive inspections on planes such as Lear Jet 23, 25, 35, 1121, and 1123, Westwind Falcon 20 and 50, Hanza Jet Sabreliner, Casa Jet Trainer. He also worked in the turbine shop on general electric CJ-610 hot section inspection and compressor inspections, where he worked until 1990.
- Anderson Aviation in Anderson, South Carolina, where he did general maintenance and line duties for a flight school and FBO (fixed base operation).
- Upon moving to Florida, he began work at Carter Aircraft in Sebring, on May 1, 1991 doing general aircraft maintenance on part 91 aircraft such as Cessna, Piper, Moonie, Beech, Grumman, Maul, Varga and Shinn. Engine work included Lycoming, and Continental.
- On October 1, 2002, he left this company to begin work at Florida Aircraft Services, Inc., in Avon Park, doing general maintenance, inspections, and repairs. He is now a percentage owner and Vice President of this company.
In July 2008, Kasley was mentioned in AOPA magazine because of the thorough and meticulous performance in completing several aircraft pre-purchases.
In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities as Vice President and shop supervisor of Florida Aircraft Services, Inc., he is Executive Director of Christ Lutheran Church in Avon Park, where Kasley and his wife currently attend.
